Betts company is saddened to report the passing of William Michael Betts III on October 16, 2016. Bill Betts was born on March 17, 1927 in Oakland, California. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 16, 2016 at the age of 89. Bill grew up in Berkeley and attended Berkeley High School. He was an exceptional athlete who excelled as a team leader and star player in football and track.
Fresno, Calif. - (July 8, 2015) – To help explain its rigorous quality control, production processes and its unique manufacturing process, Betts Spring Manufacturinghas announced the creation of a new educational YouTube channel. The videos feature Betts Company president and COO, Bill Betts, and Joe Devany, director of operations, who oversees spring manufacturing by the company.
The first video in the series explores the differences between hot winding coil springs and cold winding. The second video explains the stress relief process used in manufacturing cold wound coil springs.
Fresno, Calif. – (April 7, 2015) – Betts Company announced the appointment of Bill Betts to a newly created position of president and chief operating officer (COO). Mike Betts, formerly president of Betts Company, will actively continue in the business as chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer (CEO).
With this appointment Bill Betts becomes the seventh president of Betts Company, founded by William Michael Betts in San Francisco, Calif. in 1868.
Betts Spring Company was recently featured in the March 2015 edition of Industrial Manufacturing Digest in an article titled "The Science & Art of Making Springs".
